Hi there!
In order to solve this problem, we'll need to plug the values into the quadratic equation and solve.
WORK:
[tex]-4 +- \sqrt{ 4^{2} -4(1)(3)} /2(1)[/tex]
[tex]-4 +- \sqrt{16 - 12} /2[/tex]
[tex]-4+- \sqrt{4} /2[/tex]
[tex](-4 + 2)/2 = -1[/tex]
[tex](-4-2)/2 = -3[/tex]
ANSWERS:
-1 and -3
Hope this helps!! :)
