In __________, the ussc struck down the “random” selection of jurors from tax books in which the names of white taxpayers were in one section and the names of african american taxpayers were in another.

Respuesta :

Batson vs. Kentucky (1986). This Supreme court decision determined that race alone could not be used to remove a juror from a jury. Since taxpayers were separated by race in the tax books, a prosecutor or defense attorney could remove all members of one race for a jury, which would result in a biased jury for or against the accused.
