It would be the French and Indian war, and because the American colonists helped the French, it caused the French to help the Americans during the American Revolution. Also, the American Revolution was in 1775, so the first answer of the war of 1823 wouldn't make sense, and also the French revolution was years later as well. The unification of Germany also happened a lot later.
