D. America experienced an economic boom
After almost two decades of penny pinching and rationing during the Great Depression and World War ll, Americans were eager to spend their money on new products and appliances, and they had a lot of money. This contributed to the growth of soldiers who went to college and became white-collar workers and they growth of home ownership in the suburbs.
